Back to Alaska Overtime Law
Workers who are terminated must be paid within three working days of termination. If you quit your job, you must receive your final wages by the next regularly scheduled payday that is at least 3 working days after your last day on the job.
In certain circumstances, employers in Alaska can withhold wages. Cash shortages or missing/stolen property values may be deducted if the worker admitted on their own free will, in writing, to have taken. Workers can also provide written permission to deduct wages if they were loaned money from a third party. Likewise, if the company has loaned a worker money, they can subtract the amount as long as the employee gave written permission. In general, deductions cannot reduce your gross pay beneath minimum wage or interfere with overtime hours.
