Arkansas Minimum Wage & Overtime Quick Facts
Arkansas Minimum Wage:
- The Arkansas Minimum Wage is $6.25 per hour.
- This minimum wage became effective Oct. 1, 2006.
- For tipped employees, the minimum wage is $2.63 per hour. Tips plus the direct wage must equal at least the minimum wage.
Arkansas Overtime Law:
- Most Arkansas employees should receive time-and-a-half pay when working more than 40 in a single workweek.
- Although many qualify, several employees are exempt from overtime pay under Arkansas overtime law.
Arkansas Rest Breaks and Last Paychecks
According to wage and hour law in Alaska, employers are not required to provide rest or meal breaks. However, if these meal or rest periods are offered, employers must compensate their workers for this time, as long as the break does not exceed 20 minutes.
Final paychecks must be provided to terminated employees within seven days, and to all other separated employees by the next scheduled payday.
