Rhode Island Minimum Wage Law:
- The minimum wage in Rhode Island is $7.40 per hour, effective Jan. 1, 2007.
- Minors ages 14 to 15 may be exempt from Rhode Island minimum wage law when working 24 hours or less. Minors may be paid $5.55 per hour, which equals 75% of the Rhode Island minimum wage.
- If a minor works more than 24 hours, he or she should be paid at least the Rhode Island minimum wage.
Rhode Island Overtime Law:
- Rhode Island Overtime Law states that employees who work more than 40 hours per week should receive time-and-a-half compensation for these additional hours.
- These are certain exemptions under Rhode Island Overtime Law.
