Recordkeeping: Employers must keep true and accurate daily and weekly time records for all employees, including salaried workers. These records, as well as payroll records, must be kept for a minimum of three years.

On each regularly payday, the employer shall provide a statement of the following:

  • Hours worked during the pay period
  • Deductions made from the employee's earnings
  • An explanation of the reasoning for the deductions

Rest Breaks and Meal Periods: Employees working a six-hour shift should receive a 20-minute meal period; employees working an eight-hour shift should receive a 30-minute meal period. This does not apply to healthcare facilities or businesses with less than three workers at one site during a shift.
