Are South Carolina workers entitled to meal breaks?

If an employee quits or is fired, when should they be paid?
These employees should be paid within 48 hours of the separation or by the next payday, not to exceed 30 days.
Are workers entitled to paid vacation days or sick leave?
No. South Carolina wage and hour law does not require an employer to provide sick leave or vacation time. However, if an employer chooses to offer these benefits, they must provide written notice of the policy and not discriminate in administering the policy.
Are workers entitled to their unused vacation days or sick time upon leaving their company?
This depends on the employer’s policy regarding unused vacation days and sick time.
Can an employer reduce a worker’s pay rate?
Yes. However, if the company employs 5 or more workers, the employee must be given written notice of the reduction seven calendar days before the change takes effect.
