What is the minimum wage in Utah?
Effective July 24, 2009, the Utah minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.
Are workers entitled to vacation days, sick leave, holiday pay or severance?
Utah wage and hour law does not require employers to offer fringe benefits. If an employer has a policy or regular practice regarding fringe benefits, they must comply with this policy or practice.
Are workers required to pay for uniforms?
If an employer requires their workers to wear uniforms, the employer must cover the cost of the uniform. Employers are allowed to require a refundable deposit on the uniform.
Are workers entitled to meal periods and rest breaks?
Workers under the age of 18 should receive a 30-minute meal period no later than five hours from the start of the shift. Minors should also receive a 10-minute break for every three hours of work. Utah wage and hour law does not require meal periods or rest breaks for adult workers.
